Here's good news. Android 6.0 marshmallow now rolling out for Xperia Z5 series which includes Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact & Xperia Z5 Premium. About two weeks ago Sony Mobile released the same update to Xperia Z5 series of NTT Docomo. So Sony mobile promised to give the update to other Xperia Z5 series on March 7th. This new firmware is rolling out with the build number 32.1.A.1.163 for many regions in the world. There are many changes in the Xperia Marshmallow firmware as below.
  • Enhanced privacy settings: manage and control your application data permissions.
  • All new camera interface: switch between modes and customize settings with simple gestures
  • Smart battery life: do more for longer, with Doze and App Standby
  • Xperia Messaging: Express yourself and get creative with easy in-app access to stickers
  • Direct share: Share activity with friends, recent contacts and app lists and a lot more
Sony Mobile has removed the Stamina mode in this update, but it is expected to bring the stamina mode on the future firmware update. Also Sony mobile has included the February 2016 security patch on the new update. Many users (especially Xperia M4 Aqua 8GB users) thought that marshmallow update will bring the adaptable storage option. It is a shame that Sony Mobile hasn't included it in the update. So you cant use a Micro-SD card to expand your internal memory.
Update is live in many region. So be patient until the notification appears. If you've got it, share some info with us.
