XperiFirm Updated to 4.8.0 - Fixes Support For Xperia Z2 & Z3 Series - Adds Support For Xperia Z5 Series

Recently Sony Mobile rolled out an update for the Xperia Z2 Series and Xperia Z3 Series with the build number 23.4.A.1.200. As we know this update never appeared on XperiFirm. So we thought that the update was only available via OTA. But some users got it via PCC. Only the Z2/Z3 Series had this problem. Other devices were seeing the latest firmware builds through XperiFirm.

So we were thinking why did XperiFirm suddenly stop working for Xperia Z2/Z3 Series? XperiFirm Developer Igor Eisberg has found the problem. It appears Sony Mobile is using a new API for the distribution of firmware for select models. Now there are two servers where Xperia firmware is currently being downloaded from.

In the latest update of XperiFirm (4.8.0) the issues were fixed and now XperiFirm scan both the firmware servers for new and old firmware, which results in a slower loading firmware in XperiFirm.
As the issues were fixed in the update now, it supports with the latest firmware of Xperia Z2 Series and Xperia Z3 Series. Also, the new version adds support for the Xperia Xperia C5 Ultra, M5 and Z5 series, which now uses the latest firmware server.
